Air velocity in pipe systems
The smaller the
pipe diameter is chosen, the higher the velocity of air achieved. Higher velocities
cause higher costs of energy during operation time and when using of abrasive
materials there is a higher wear factor.
Bigger diameters are more expensive. Generally there will be more deposits
in the system if you have low velocities. Especially in long, horizontal pipe
systems it is important to note the velocity of air (plan for inspection and
cleaning doors).
